he hated the bland composition. it's centered and doesn't have a strong focal point. there's not enough grayscale in it. and the tree is compositionally distracting. he had his reasons, and it breaks all the rules. i just happen to like it anyway.
It doesn't look so scary as much as it looks mysterious. There's always a mystery to old structures, and granted some older structures do look somewhat frightening, but that isn't the case here. I really love the feeling that I'm actually standing in front of it.
Your teacher is one hell of a blind bastard. He better eat his words when you become a famous photographer.
oh, by the way... you're talking about waterloo village near rt 80 in new jersey?
i was going pass the exit to this village countless times when i was going to PA, to my new home, and i was wondering what's in there...
if you want to visit waterloo you'd better hurry b/c they're tearing it down soon. it's a historic village. they have horses, sheep, etc. they lead tours and talk about how things were done in the old days, but mostly it's one big photo opp.
i guess teachers know only the rules, but the rules are here because someone has to break them!
it's nice picture, i like it
i guess i jst lik eweird distracting things in the middle of a shot
