Missing Person Updates

:new: Check Out My Contest:new:

There isn't much to report on this front. Life on campus is in a slump. You can see we're all depressed and this case, now marked as a possible homicide investigation, is taking its toll on us. Accepted Students Day, which usually yields an 80% turn out, was on Sunday. Only 40% of those students expected to arrive did. I cannot imagine what this place was like that day, and I don't want to.

The investigation appears to be grinding to a painful standstill. After confirming the blood was John's, officials moved to search the two landfills in Pennsylvania where our school ships its garbage. At this point we're all hoping for some degree of closure. John's Facebook messages have gone from, "we miss you buddy, come home" to "rest in peace, pal". Unfortunately, if they find his body in a landfill we'll never know what happened b/c he'll have been compacted twice by then.

It could be weeks before we hear anything. This process is a slow tedious one that has knocked the story off the front pages. They're searching a one acre plot 20 feet deep in each land fill. First they have to identify what areas to search. This hasn't happened yet. They're sifting through trash, trying to find anything with a Ewing address on it.

Things are looking down.

Read this article and try to imagine how terrified we are. We just saw the channel six news and according to them, the substance found in the dumpster behind Dubs has been confirmed as John's blood. They have finally decided to track the trucks that take the garbage away to their dump and are sifting through that to find this past weekend's trash.

Meanwhile, we've heard that there was a possible sighting in NYC. It seems unlikely but it is giving the family hope. The fact that this is a freshman without a car on campus who disappeared in the dead of night doesn't seem to change that.

Also (and this is something I won't say much about NOW) it seems that the story being told by the people involved is changing as time goes on. The facts seem to contradict each other more and more.

The only good news thus far is that Cat appears to be safe. Out of state, but safe. Rumor has it that her sorority sisters have heard from her today.

I'm sure many of you are waiting on updates on this whole situation and I'll share what I know, which is not much. They send us emails daily telling us that they don't know anything, but their actions claim otherwise.

The other night they had Dubs blocked off ALL night. They brought in tactical rescue and what looked like FBI. Since then, CSI and homicide have taken over the case, although we've been repeatedly told that this is still JUST a 'missing person's' case.

They held a press conference on the same night that they emailed all our parents, but they haven't answered much. Basically they told us that no body or body parts have been found. They have executed three search warrants, but they won't tell us what for.

There is 'new evidence being investigated at the forensics lab'.

Last night we had choppers HOVERING over campus. Never a good sign. They looked like search choppers.

Police, detectives, search dogs and teams, and reporters are everywhere. Most students are pretty good about keeping their worst case scenarios to themselves, but we've had a couple dumbasses make outrageous statements that just don't help.

ex- "I was standing 20 feet away and could see a trail of blood outside the dumpster."

I swear, if I see THAT chick I'll hit her. A forensics major of all things!!! How dumb do you have to be?

They evacuated both towers last night for several hours while they brought the dogs in. I don't know if the search yielded any clues. I just know that Ken couldn't go back to his room right away.

CBS 3 continues to have the best coverage of all.

But the worst part is... we got an email this morning. At first it appeared to be the same old shit we've been fed the last four days. Nobody knows where he is. It's just a missing person's case. Don't jump to conclusions. Counselling is available for those who need it. I almost deleted it...

...then I saw the last paragraph.

"Sadly, I have additional disturbing news to announce. A missing person report has been issued by the Manalapan Township Police Department for TCNJ sophomore Catherine "Cat" Detrizio. I must emphasize that authorities do not believe this is related in any way to the disappearance of John Fiocco. Her mother has informed police that Catherine has separate stresses in her life, and her roommates believe she may be en-route to South Florida."

So we have another missing student. And I KNOW this girl. She was in my psych class last semester. We wrote all our papers together for that class. She was always the group leader. Calm, organized, in control. I realize some people need to just get away, but I don't understand how anybody could think to leave without telling someone under THESE circumstances.

I will keep you all posted...

:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:

This place is going to be a mess. IS a mess.

Saturday morning, around 3am, a boy at our school (a boy who I just talked to last week) came back from a party with a group of his friends. They all parted ways in their dorm building (one of the towers, the same buildings I lived in last year). Nobody has seen him since.

We got an email yesterday announcing that John Fiocco has been reported as a missing person. Flyers are up all over campus. It is the strangest feeling, watching all this go on around you.

Today they brought out a full out search mission. There have been helicopters (mostly the channel 3 chopper) floating around my building all day. The rumble has gotten to the point where I can't hear it anymore. They brought in the cops, and the dogs, and the crime scene tape.

This is a search for a body. There is no denying that. They have something and they aren't telling us. We know that. They say they're looking. Searching. I think they've found something.

Rumors started circulating this afternoon that they had found him in a dumpster behind Dubs. This is just a rumor, but there seems to be a good deal of truth that it's feeding off of.

I can see all this out my window.

Two of the search dogs indicated the dumpster and they've had officials (all in white) sifting through it all day. They say they don't have anything they can really draw a conclusion off of, but they're not searching anywhere else on campus. It has been twelve hours and the place is still staked out.

Bryce and I just came back to campus and had to walk past the scene (around it, b/c we'd usually walk right through there) to get to the dorm. They have a Tactical Search truck parked out along the Loop. Tactical Search. They don't bring those guys in unless they've found something and need to get creative about getting it.

It's been said that the body is in the trash chute.

They've locked all the trash rooms in the entire ten floor tower.

I've heard they may evacuate.

Check out the story at the CBS website. If somehow you have any information whatsoever, contact somebody.

This place is going to be a mess after all this... Already students are packing up and going home. Some are even being pulled from the school by their frightened parents.

This isn't supposed to happen here. Sure, we're right up the street from Trenton, but Trenton stays off campus. We have such a nice quiet campus. Had. Security is something we aren't worried about. Weren't. We feel safe walking to and from meetings and classes and dorms by ourselves. Even at night. Felt.

Things are going to shit...

it is and its only gonna get worse with shows like that sensationalizing it... they kept going into details(even when there is not much known) one guy said something about him being shoved headfirst down the shute...i hate ensationalism....the did that with the ardeth woods case(a murder that happened her 2 1/2 yrs ago) and it took them two years to catch the guy b\c everyone was calling in all these bogus tips because they thought they saw something... now theyre working on jennifer teague's murder but it was as sensationalized...we(the public) still dont know how she died(or when or where for that matter)better off that way i say less false leads.

*nods* they keep telling us not to let it get to that, that they dont kjnow he's dead til they find a body, and that we shouldn't speculate. it's awful. we even heard rumors that his BODY was in that dumpster last week. clearly not the case...

it sounds to me like that guy who got drunk and went to sleep in the snow and froze to death when i was in grade 8 (he was in high school naturally). but who knows.
hope everything will be ok.
